We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Safety and Security Officer to join our team at Palm Beach State College. As a key member of our safety and security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol campus grounds and respond to calls for assistance
- Issue parking authorizations and citations as needed
- Write incident and accident reports
- Monitor parking areas and other department or campus facilities to prevent problems
- Investigate disruptions and incidents on campus property
- Monitor visitor access to various areas of the campus
- Report unsafe conditions and other safety concerns during patrolling duties
- Direct emergency medical personnel to the appropriate areas of the campus during emergency situations
- Keep department and campus facilities in clean, litter-free, and orderly condition
- Perform or assist in performing safety and fire inspections
- Follow established safety practices and maintain a safe workplace
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Some related experience preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
- Skilled in delivering high-level customer service, attention to detail, and incident investigations
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service
- Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
- Regular physical attendance required
- Valid Florida driver's license required
- Ability to reach and grasp objects, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand for extended periods, use video display terminal, use manual dexterity and fine motor skills, communicate information orally and in writing, receive and understand information through oral and written communication, proofread and check documents for accuracy, and experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions
