I&E Tech Lead – Gas Plant – New Mexico Job Overview
Our client is an emerging leader in the midstream gas industry.

They are currently expanding with several significant capital projects in progress and are seeking an I&E Tech Lead for their operations.

In this role, you will serve as the Electrical & Instrumentation lead on various projects.
Expertise in gas plant operations and leadership is essential, along with experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control systems for project execution and construction throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems in compliance with recognized national and company standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Develop medium and low voltage power distribution and control systems, including control system wiring, plant lighting, electrical heat tracing, and installation of process plant instrumentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all deliverables in your areas of responsibility.
  • Engage in all phases of capital projects: planning, design, procurement, construction, and start-up.
  • Modify existing specifications or create new ones to meet project scope requirements.
  • Interface effectively with clients and engineers/designers from various locations.

Position Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of industrial design experience in process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems.

  • Experience in a lead role.
  • Proficiency in Design Checking, EPC Design, and AutoCAD.
  • Associate's degree in an industrial technology program or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage Design (Above 1000v).
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design including conduit and cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, hazardous location apparatus selection, and motor control schematic design.
  • Understanding of instrumentation design including circuit design, installation details, control panel layout, and device selection.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and analytical instrumentation for measuring and controlling various properties of fluids.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, and wiring schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in the Midstream Gas Plant sector.
