Overview: At NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, our security personnel play a vital role beyond mere surveillance of facilities and campuses; they contribute to remarkable narratives. For instance, when a patient faced a critical health crisis, one of our security specialists instinctively recognized the urgency. Remaining vigilant, he adjusted his position to monitor the patient’s room, and when the situation escalated, he promptly notified medical staff for immediate intervention. Daily, our Security Specialists embody service and integrity, making it possible to safeguard our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and property across our medical and academic campuses.
- Maintain access control in designated areas and respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Foster a lawful environment conducive to life-saving care.
Work Schedule: This role requires availability during weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of collegiate coursework in criminal justice or a related discipline, or prior military service.
- Previous experience in security roles.
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of a current NYS security guard license.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 90 days of commencing the role, with ongoing certification every two years.
- A valid Driver's License is necessary.
