Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and documenting patient information.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct patient assessments, identify potential health risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- CPR certification (offered on-site).
- Handle With Care certification (offered on-site).
- Education/Experience:
- Education, experience, and/or training in working with patient populations of units of assignment is required either prior to employment or during an initial employment period.
- General Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children's Residential Facilities (22VAC, pg. 43).
- Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.
