Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Advocate to join our team at Franciscan Health. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the visibility and access of our patient representative program, communicating the function of the program to hospital staff, and coordinating patient visits to promote the program's role and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the visibility and access of the patient representative program.
- Communicate the function of the patient representative to hospital staff.
- Coordinate or conduct a patient visit to 70% of new admits to communicate the patient representative's role and availability.
- Serve as a liaison for administration.
- Acknowledge reported concerns within 24 hours and provide necessary follow-up.
- Discuss appropriate response to complaints with unit manager.
- Coordinate Press Ganey Reports, including responses and providing managers with opportunity to review results.
- Coordinate Mission Services Program.
- Communicate effectively with all patients and members of the health care team.
- Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of the patient.
- Use proper channels of communication, keeping nurse informed of significant information.
- Use time productively and work independently.
- Ability to display empathy while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED - Required
- Bachelor's degree - Preferred
- 2 Years Customer Service Experience - Required
