Job Summary

This position operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by healthcare providers. The professional also performs routine diagnostic procedures and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Instruct patients on procedures and provide clear instructions for their comfort and understanding.
  • Examine radiologic film for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Develop and process radiologic film, ensuring accurate results for healthcare providers to interpret.
  • Maintain the x-ray exam room, stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies, and cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Clean and perform minor adjustments to radiologic equipment, reporting any failures or issues to the maintenance team.
  • Disseminate x-ray reports and deliver them to healthcare providers, maintaining a record of completed exams.
  • Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside laboratories, as required.
  • Gather and prepare x-rays for physician interpretation and review.
Requirements
  • Avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, following prescribed safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, x-ray results, and other relevant data.
  • Develop strong relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and colleagues to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in diagnostic imaging.
  • Perform tasks efficiently, effectively, and within established timeframes.
Education and Certification
  • Hold an Associate's degree from an accredited radiology program or equivalent experience.
  • Possess current ARRT certification for Radiography and RSQA license.
  • New graduates must obtain permanent SCRQSA licensure within 30 days of passing the ARRT registry exam.
