We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN specializing in critical care within the ICU Neuro unit. This role requires a strong background in stroke management and critical care nursing.
Certification Requirements- BLS and ACLS certifications are highly preferred.
- NIHSS Certification is mandatory.
- Competency in bedside dysphagia screening is required.
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Unit: ICU Neuro
Patient Ratio: 1:4 (can float to stepdown)
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the following:
- Stroke signs and symptoms competency (e.g., BE-FAST)
- NIHSS Certification (current certificate on file, obtained within 2 years of start date)
- Bedside dysphagia screening competency (on file)
A minimum of 1 year of experience in a certified stroke center critical care unit is preferred. Familiarity with current stroke guidelines and performance measures for both acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes is essential.
IV-tPA AdministrationCompetency in IV-tPA administration and post-tPA monitoring is required.
LicensureState licensure in KY or a Compact license is necessary.
Contract InformationContract Length: 13 weeks
RTO: Must be included in submittal
Distance Restriction: 65-mile radius
Charting: Experience with Meditech is preferred but not required.
All candidates must provide health documents, facility-specific documents, and history requirements as part of the application process.
