Nutritional Services Cook

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Assess the types and quantities of meats, vegetables, and soups required by reviewing planned menus and ensuring timely preparation.
Calculate the necessary food quantities to fulfill weekly menus and submit orders to the Dietary Manager.
Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory of supplies and inform the Dietary Manager of any shortages or discrepancies.
Consult with the Dietary Manager regarding the use of leftovers and ensure proper storage and labeling.
Work with a registered dietitian on modified diet plans.
Supervise dietary staff during food washing, trimming, and preparation tasks.
Support the training and orientation of newly hired dietary personnel.
Measure and combine ingredients according to established recipes, utilizing kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, and slicers.
Prepare various meats, fish, and poultry using techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming, and portion into individual servings as per menu specifications and dietary orders.
Check food temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
Prepare special nourishment and supplements as directed by the Dietary Manager, labeling them with resident names and room numbers.
Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Conduct all aspects of resident care in a manner that prioritizes safety and minimizes the risk of healthcare errors.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Our facility operates 24/7; schedules and hours may vary.
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
Exhibit open communication, professionalism, and ethical practices.
Demonstrate effective relationship management skills while maintaining confidentiality.
