Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner II to join our team in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Division at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients in the ambulatory and infusion center settings, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the comprehensive care of patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient preferences and values.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research, applying evidence-based practice to patient care.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification and ACLS certification.
  • Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification (ACONP) and/or ONS Chemotherapy Certification (obtained within 3 months of hire).
  • Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hematology/Oncology Experience (at least 2 or more years).
  • Educational training and/or experience to support setting and patient population.
  • Infusion Center Experience (at least 2 or more years).
  • Experience with clinical trial patient participation.
