Job Summary

Vertis Therapy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Therapist to join our team at our Assisted Living Facility in Ft Wayne, IN. As a Lead Therapist, you will be responsible for leading the therapy team, managing day-to-day operations, and providing patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure rehabilitation services are provided in compliance with Vertis and facility policies and procedures, as well as state, federal, and professional organization regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate resident screening programs and serve as an advocate for meeting the rehabilitation needs of residents.
  • Act as a liaison between the therapy department, administrator, and nursing staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage therapist schedules, arrange prn staffing as needed, and ensure accurate and timely month-end billing.
  • Coordinate the execution of the Restorative Program with nursing staff and therapy department, and prepare the Rehab Department for a deficiency-free state survey.
  • Train staff in Vertis and facility policies and procedures, and assist in identifying therapy needs of the resident population.
  • Lead the therapy team in implementing clinical programs, and effectively communicate pertinent information from Vertis management and facility management to the therapy team.
  • Assist the Regional Manager in performance reviews, applicant interview process, and disciplinary actions, as well as support team development by encouraging individual growth and providing a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license/certification in the state of Indiana.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a rehabilitation setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
