Heidelberg Materials is in search of a Facilities Maintenance Manager to become part of our team at the Wagner Aggregate site. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and schedule the maintenance team to ensure equipment is maintained to meet production goals.


Oversee the tasks performed by maintenance crews and external contractors to guarantee timely and quality job completion.

Manage urgent repairs and breakdowns to keep equipment operational and reduce downtime.

Foster the development of team members and inspire staff to create a dependable and skilled workforce.

Provide technical support to maintenance staff for quick problem resolution.

Specific duties include:

Coordinate with the Maintenance Department

by discussing upcoming jobs and advising on necessary stock adjustments for maintenance schedules.

Collaborate with the Maintenance Department

to formulate work schedules, equipment usage plans, prioritize mechanical expenditures, and procedures to achieve overall plant objectives.

Prepare estimates for materials and labor to create project cost assessments and plant budgets.

Monitor material acquisition and usage to align with productivity and budget targets.

Maintain accurate records of time, work orders, materials, equipment, and other mechanical shop activities.


Assess employee training needs by evaluating their skills, safety practices, and behaviors to ensure they possess the necessary competencies for their roles.

Plan staff schedules, including work assignments and overtime, to address maintenance demands.

Engage in plant project implementation.


Contribute to the design and execution of mechanical project components to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.


Ensure adherence to the plant's conduct rules, policies, and health & safety protocols during maintenance operations to minimize injuries and lost time incidents.

Provide ongoing maintenance support across all shifts by participating in the plant's on-call program.


This includes assessing and determining actions for maintenance issues after hours and on weekends while on call, which may require on-site supervision to maintain operational efficiency.

Willingness to work weekends and after hours for emergency repair supervision is essential.


Ensure that maintenance tools and equipment are well-maintained and that sufficient consumables are available to facilitate scheduled maintenance activities.

Complete assigned tasks while complying with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirements.

Essential Experience and Skills:
5 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance

Prior supervisory experience is preferred

Experience with heavy industrial machinery and equipment

Proven ability to lead teams with or without direct authority

Familiarity with SAP is preferred

Technical knowledge of the cement manufacturing process

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Understanding of MSHA regulations and guidelines

Motivated and willing to participate in the plant on-call schedule to troubleshoot and resolve issues during off-hours and weekends
