Job Overview

Koorsen Fire & Security Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Systems Inspector to join our team in Muncie, IN. As a Fire Systems Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing fire alarm and sprinkler systems to ensure proper functionality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test fire alarm and sprinkler systems to identify any deficiencies.
  • Document inspection results and communicate findings to customers.
  • Ensure customers understand the functionality of their fire safety systems.
  • Interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Follow all safety regulations and practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Customer service skills and technical experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with electronic testing devices.
  • Pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to meet state licensing requirements and/or vendor certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fire Life Safety, Low Voltage, Security experience.
  • Fire Alarm Manufacturer's Certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of IT functionality.
Physical Demands
  • Able to safely use general hand and power tools.
  • Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Perform services that require climbing ladders and working at heights.
Hiring Process
  1. New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within three days.
  2. Background checks will be conducted.
  3. A test for Evidence of Substance Abuse by urinalysis test is required.
