Job Summary:

Assist in quarry operations at Sweetman Const. Co. in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a full-time, seasonal position with a winter layoff and spring recall. The hourly rate is between $18.50-$20.00, with a $1.50 night shift differential.

Responsibilities:

  • Use safe work procedures to comply with safety policies and regulations.
  • Work in a surface mine, pit, or quarry, or at a preparation plant in a safe manner.
  • Clean up spillage from equipment using shovels and high-pressure water hoses.
  • Perform light maintenance on equipment as directed.
  • Climb ladders to move equipment.
  • Recommend safety improvements.
  • Change screen cloth on vibrating screens.
  • Observe plant and equipment for proper operation and notify supervisors of malfunctions.

Requirements:

  • Less than high school education, or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Driver's license required.

Additional Information:

This position may require wearing a half-mask respirator and being fit-tested. Facial hair is allowed as long as it does not compromise the respirator seal. Typical hours are Sunday 5pm-12am, Monday-Thursday 4pm-12am. We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
