The role of Accounting Manager is integral to the Capstone Warehouse Services (CWS) division's accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. Capstone specializes in developing comprehensive supply chain solutions across various sectors, including warehouse management, freight logistics, and last mile delivery. With an impressive annual revenue exceeding $1.5 billion, Capstone collaborates with a diverse clientele, from Fortune 100 companies to small-scale manufacturers and distribution networks. Key industries served include retail, consumer goods, food and beverage, healthcare, and automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to create and enhance processes and controls for the collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of financial data.
- Oversee and manage the daily activities of the accounting staff.
- Provide training and mentorship to the accounting team.
- Enhance and enforce financial policies and procedures within the organization.
- Supervise or execute monthly and quarterly tax reporting.
- Manage or conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong management and supervisory capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience:
- Public accounting experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of management experience is necessary.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution is required.
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in accounting is essential.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains is advantageous.
- Experience with large firms or corporations is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- CPA certification is preferred.
