**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Prep Expert to join our culinary team at the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. As a key member, you will be responsible for preparing all hot and cold food items with consistency and quality in mind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all items on the prep list following standard procedures or as instructed by the supervisor.

  • Maintain high-quality products at all times, inspecting food for quality when working on the prep list and service line.

  • Check portion control, weights, and counts prior to functions.

  • Fire all food for service and serve on the line.

  • Maintain cooking times and temperatures.

  • Follow storage procedures when taking food out of the walk-in and returning food to the walk-in.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area at all times.

  • Keep the walk-in, prep area, and equipment up to Health Department standards at all times.

  • Support procedures for food and beverage portion and waste controls.

Requirements:

  • Basic math skills needed to understand and implement recipes and measurements.

  • Prior experience including sautéing, broiling, and fry cooking, with a working knowledge of sanitation standards.

  • Ability to prepare all food items according to standard recipes and as specified on the guest check, ensuring consistency of product.

  • Ability to work cohesively with the entire culinary staff as part of a team.

  • Ability to maintain food preparation handling and correct storage standards.

  • Understanding, following, and maintaining all standardized recipes.

  • 2-year minimum work-related experience is required.

  • Work-related education is preferred but not required.

  • Must have current Food Handlers Certification.

  • Display basic knife skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day.

  • Flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
