Position Summary

The Mail Inserting Machine Operator is tasked with the setup, operation, and maintenance of mail-inserting machinery to ensure the precise and timely processing of mail items. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strict adherence to deadlines, and the capability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

  • Configure and operate mail-inserting machines for various mail types, including letters and promotional materials.
  • Ensure machines are equipped with the correct materials and programmed according to job specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as needed to uphold efficiency and quality standards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Examine completed mail pieces to verify compliance with company and client standards.
  • Identify and rectify issues such as misaligned inserts or incorrect postage.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on mail-inserting machines to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and address mechanical problems promptly, collaborating with maintenance personnel as necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate logs of machine output and maintenance activities.
  • Regularly report production data and machine performance to supervisors.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Comply with company policies and industry standards for mail handling and processing.

Collaboration:

  • Work in conjunction with team members and other departments to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding machine status and production updates.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience with mail-inserting machines or similar equipment is preferred.

Physical Requirements
