Position Overview:

The role of Senior Revenue Cycle Specialist focuses on Medicaid collections, ensuring effective management of claims and reimbursements.

Work Schedule: 8-hour shifts during regular business hours, Monday to Friday.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience with Medicaid and Medicare payers.
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, and collections is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze trends and perform follow-ups on unpaid and underpaid Medicaid and managed care insurance claims.
  • Conduct research and appeal claim rejections, underpayments, and denials in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues related to patient coordination of benefits (COB) and Medicare/Medicaid eligibility.
  • Identify and correct billing discrepancies as outlined in Medicaid provider manuals.
  • Address patient benefit-related denials, including verification of plan requirements and financial risk assessments.
  • Utilize various payer systems and internal applications to ensure timely resolution of claims.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to document research and actions taken on claims.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all company and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
