OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:
The Strategic Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in leveraging financial and market analysis expertise to support leadership in recognizing, defining, and executing strategic initiatives on a global scale.
Conducts research and assists in evaluating potential business ventures that align with the organization's short-term and long-term goals and strategic vision.
Performs routine analyses and modeling to assess the effects of public policy changes on existing business operations and to uncover new business prospects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under close guidance, carry out market research, data gathering, and various analyses for both long-term and short-term programs that provide strategic direction and new business opportunities for the Corporate Development Office (CDO).
Evaluate and research projects through financial feasibility assessments and market analysis, primarily utilizing external data sources.
Contribute to the development of business planning models to formulate strategies and present findings to relevant members of Corporate Development.
Utilize data from multiple external sources and targeted internal data, engaging in data analysis and modeling of current initiatives and programs as requested by senior management.
Collaborate with senior management across various business lines to aid in the formulation of strategic business plans.
Assist in conducting routine economic analyses, financial projections, and risk assessments to validate anticipated growth rates and profitability potential in support of strategic growth initiatives.
Work with various departments to develop model assumptions and comprehend the implications of new business opportunities on existing sectors.
Support project management related to the execution of strategic initiatives, closely collaborating with business line owners, management, and stakeholders to identify resources, establish timelines, and milestones to ensure successful implementation.
Participate in various projects as assigned by senior management.
Consult with senior analysts for assistance with complex issues that may arise.
Escalate concerns to supervisor/manager for resolution as necessary.
Typically receives general instructions on routine tasks and detailed guidance on new projects or assignments. Work is evaluated for soundness.
Foster productive internal and external working relationships.
Develop professional expertise.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Additional duties may include a focus on specific departments or locations. Refer to applicable addendum for department or location-specific functions.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Exposure to Business Development from evaluation through integration and implementation is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to interact directly with various stakeholders.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a highly motivated and integrated team.
Strong communication and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
Proficient computer skills with demonstrated expertise in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and email applications.

ADDENDUM:
Joint Ventures focus
Participates in the vetting process for the Joint Ventures group, assisting in assessing the financial and strategic viability of potential joint venture agreements.
Physician Contracting - MDC
Assists in managing a comprehensive Medical Director Contracting model system (MDC) database, incorporating information from Corporate Development, Business Planning & Analysis, Finance, and the Legal Department.
Supports document load processes and other MDC-related tasks.
Creates monthly status reports for upper management.
Releases and adjusts models as requested by the Physician Contracting team.
Generates various reports for the Legal department.
Drives the maintenance of annual rate updates.
Collaborates closely with IT on the interface with the new CLM system.
Physician Contracting- Analytics & Negotiation Preparation
Collects and analyzes data related to treatment costs.
Examines treatment trends within the industry.
Prepares presentations for upper management and the Physician Contracting team.
Works closely with the Physician Contracting team on negotiation strategies.
Executes queries based on ad hoc requests.
Creates practice profiles for the Physician Contracting team.
Documents all reporting processes in CLM.
Manages MDA reassignments.
Develops models that reflect revenue and physician compensation impacts on risk MDAs.
