Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Seakeeper Inc, you will be responsible for designing creative solutions to meet new product requirements and improve existing products within our Gyro Product Engineering team.
You'll have the opportunity to lead the entire system development into production, developing part and assembly drawing/models in SolidWorks, and collaborating with a growing, multi-disciplined, engineering team to continue innovating Seakeeper's core technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing part and assembly drawing/models in SolidWorks
- Supporting refinement and cost reduction projects to improve existing Seakeeper products
- Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Necessary Engineering Calculations (NEC) to support design
- Collaborating with a growing, multi-disciplined, engineering team to continue innovating Seakeeper's core technologies
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical design and/or product development experience
- CAD modeling and FEA programs experience
- Familiarity with GD&T, metal fabrication processes, order of assembly, and utilization of investment tooling
- Self-sufficient at solving engineering problems related to the product development
- Eagerness to learn and gain experience in a wide array of disciplines and projects
- Have a mechanical aptitude and be handy
- 4+ years of mechanical design experience
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD, SolidWorks Simulation and/or ANSYS
- Technical project management experience
- Experience mentoring and training junior Mechanical Engineers
- Experience in the marine industry
