The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures with a high level of technical skill and minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting diagnostic imaging by accurately positioning patients and utilizing appropriate immobilization techniques.
- Adjusting radiation beams using collimation devices to protect non-targeted areas of the patient.
- Executing portable x-ray examinations in various settings, including patient rooms and emergency departments.
- Labeling patient films correctly with identification details and ensuring proper documentation.
- Processing exposed x-ray films using established methods.
- Maintaining an organized work environment in the imaging department.
- Preparing and assisting in the administration of contrast media as directed by physicians.
- Performing administrative tasks related to patient scheduling, instructions, and record maintenance.
- Providing assistance to patients as needed, ensuring comfort and safety during procedures.
- Adhering to organizational competencies and standards in patient care.
Qualifications: A minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting is required. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
