Overview

The Department of Wildland Resources at Utah State University is seeking a Wildland Resources Scientist to contribute to the development and implementation of fire severity prediction models. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in close collaboration with PIs across an interdisciplinary research team, publishing papers and summarizing results for stakeholders. Qualifications include a PhD in Forestry, Ecology, Biology, or a related field, familiarity with fire ecology and forest ecology, proficiency in ArcGIS, Python, Matlab, or R, and knowledge of statistics. The salary is commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits. Employees work indoors with occasional temperature changes and are required to sit regularly. The S. J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Natural Resources is recognized for its research, extension, and teaching on natural and socio-environmental ecosystems.

Job Description
