Job Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski provides direct and indirect patient care. He/She applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Registered Nurse must possess good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients and families. He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Obstetrics Department
  • Apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care
  • Develop and implement patient education plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements

  • Active TN RN license or compact state license with intent to obtain TN RN license within 30 days of hire
  • BLS/CPR certification required within first 30 days in position
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course at time of hire or obtain certification within 8 months of hire
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. preferred
  • ACLS preferred
