Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Setup: Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
  • Instrument Management: Monitor and restock supplies, and assist in maintaining the correct count of instruments, sutures, and sponges.
  • Patient Care: Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards, and assist surgeons during operations by retracting tissues under direction.
  • Specimen Handling: Identify and care for specimens.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure seamless execution of surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Certificate Program in Surgical Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant experience; 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Working Environment

This role requires standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional exposure to occupational hazards and bloodborne pathogens.
