At Lewis Tree Service, we're committed to providing a stable and progressive work environment for our employees. As a Groundperson, you'll be part of a tight-knit crew working in a team environment to deliver exceptional service to our utility customers.
Why You'll Love This Job:
- You'll have the opportunity to work outdoors in varying environments and weather conditions.
- You'll be part of an innovative climbing skills training program.
- You'll perform line clearing and tree trimming duties, including pruning trees and limbs, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, etc.
- You'll climb trees for manual trimming and removals in and above the power lines.
- You'll prepare, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- You'll remove limbs and brush, clean up, and dispose of debris.
- You'll mix and apply spray chemicals to preserve desirable vegetation.
- You'll safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area and help enforce on-the-job safety practices.
What You'll Need:
- You'll need to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs to shoulder height or more.
- You'll need to be capable of operating two-handed equipment and have the physical ability to endure extreme climate variances.
- You'll need to be willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications, such as tree species identification and local, state, and federal licenses.
- You'll need to be able to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
- You'll need to pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests.
- You'll need to be able to obtain a valid Driver's License.
