Job Summary

As a PACU Nurse at North Houston Endoscopy & Surgery, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, you will be responsible for implementing physician orders, providing continuity and quality of nursing care, and continually evaluating patients' conditions to ensure their safety, comfort, and privacy.

Responsibilities
  • Implement all physician orders and provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
  • Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family in preparation for discharge.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed in the state.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or ICU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Critical Care or PACU experience.
  • Ambulatory experience.
Work Environment

Outpatient Surgery; Physical demands include working on a computer, using a telephone, lifting up to 50 lbs, and intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, light lifting, pulling, and pushing of carts, equipment, etc.
