Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL driver to join our team as a Residential Driver. As a key member of our waste management team, you will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle on pre-assigned routes to collect garbage, yard waste, and recycling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a refuse collection vehicle on pre-assigned routes to collect garbage, yard waste, and recycling
  • Oversee the work of helpers assisting on assigned routes
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck checks and cleaning
  • Prepare and submit required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles
Requirements
  • Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works
  • Clean driving record
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, dispatch, and supervisors
Work Environment

As a Residential Driver, you will work in a variety of environmental conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations. You must be physically able to push or pull independently 50 pounds between 800 and 1000 times a day, lift independently 50 pounds from the ground to waist height between 800 and 1000 times a day, and work 8 to 12 hours in extreme weather conditions.
