Job Overview

Position Summary:
This role encompasses specialized tasks in the development and management of staffing and financial data at Midwest Manufacturing, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely information and support to the Division Controller, General Plant Manager(s), and General Managers of Midwest Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Review and Analysis:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance and streamline the closing process at plant locations.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of Plant financial statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Serve as a liaison, assisting Controllers and Controller Trainees with margin analysis and financial reporting to the MM Accounting Team.
  • Collaborate with Controllers and Controller Trainees to identify and address problematic trends.
  • Work alongside Plant Controllers to monitor and track inventory levels effectively.
  • Gather financial data from each plant, consolidate it, and distribute financial reports to the Division Controller and General Plant Manager(s).
  • Support the Division Controller with financial insights for new plant expansions.

Office Management Duties:

  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and termination processes for Controllers and Controller Trainees.
  • Contribute to the development and training of Controllers and Controller Trainees across all plant locations.
  • Adhere to established procedures for problem resolution and handling.
  • Review and verify billing processes for accuracy.
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor work to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Assist the Division Controller and Assistant Division Controllers in their various duties and responsibilities.
  • Complete any additional management tasks as assigned by the Division Controller.
  • Support the start-up processes for new plant locations when applicable.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficient understanding of contemporary accounting methods and techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capable of establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
  • Willingness to work within designated office hours or as required by the job.
  • Potential requirement to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • Effective communication skills, both clear and accurate.
