Reimbursement Specialist Job Summary

Vaco, a leading provider of specialized talent and consulting services, is seeking a highly skilled Reimbursement Specialist to assist in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from government payor sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of annual cost reports for Medicare, Medicaid, and Tri-Care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accumulate and analyze patient-related information for HCAP reporting, providing valuable insights for business decisions.
  • Track, bill, and report on Graduate Medical Education (GME) related to Interns and Residents, ensuring accurate reimbursement.
  • Prepare month-end estimates for third-party A/R balances, providing timely financial information.
  • Analyze the impact of changes to government payor regulations, advising the Executive team on strategic decisions.
  • Provide reimbursement and regulatory updates to the Executive team, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Assist in the budget process and determination of budgeted Net Patient Revenue, ensuring accurate financial planning.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of department policies and procedures, ensuring efficient operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance, with a strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement principles.
  • 5-8 years of experience in hospital reimbursement, with extensive knowledge of Medicare and Ohio Medicaid reimbursement rules and regulations.
