Senior Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machinist to join our team at Mid-West Forge Corporation. As a Senior Machinist, you will be responsible for operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts for machines, instruments, and tools.

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to produce precision parts.
• Tooling and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair tooling and equipment, including die room machinery, to ensure optimal performance.
• Quality Control: Inspect and test parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Production Planning: Plan and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other machinists and production staff to achieve production goals.

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience: Minimum four years of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Skills: Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail; knowledge of metal properties and other materials; familiarity with performing lock out/tag out as an authorized user.

The Senior Machinist will work in a fast-paced production environment, interacting with historic machinery and potentially hazardous equipment. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment, follow safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
