Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as a Per Diem CT Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating CT scanners, producing detailed computer-generated scans of patients' head and body for diagnostic and interventional information.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct computer system warm-up and fast calibration procedures to ensure effective, calibrated, and safe operation.
- Confirm exam requisition orders and consult with radiologists for detailed protocols per patient exam indication.
- Properly identify and escort patients to the CT scanner, assist patients onto the scanner, review exam screening questionnaires, and ensure lab values are within protocol.
- Enter pertinent information relating to patients and scan specifics into the computer, direct specific operation of the scan during the procedure, and set up necessary supplies/equipment for administration and delivery of I.V. solution and contrast agents.
- Monitor patient condition during and immediately post-scan, perform quality CT scans for radiologist review and interpretation, and assist patients off the scanner and arrange transport when necessary.
- Network exam data to the Relay and segment exam when necessary, complete exam in the RIS, transmit images to PACS, and complete appropriate notes in patient charts and RIS.
- MA License required
- ARRT required
- Advanced CT registration required
- CPR certification required
- IV skills preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology
- Knowledge of the principles of radiation physics
- Knowledge of radiographic positioning and radiographic equipment
