Job Title: Mechanical Superintendent

This is a critical role in the construction of novel battery chemical plants near Corpus Christi, TX. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will be a key coordinator of field operations, interfacing with general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturing, and construction engineering teams to drive project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead field construction operations within assigned disciplines or areas.
  • Create and drive project schedules, identifying critical paths and communicating roadblocks.
  • Determine workforce requirements, coordinate operational plans, and schedule work to be performed.
  • Ensure the quality of work performed and cleanliness expectations.
  • Approve craft time records using established automated tools.
  • Prepare reports and forecasts, including construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecasts.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas to ensure seamless integration and execution of work.
  • Employ a can-do attitude, working through challenges with stakeholders and seeking creative solutions.
  • Schedule and lead quality control and site safety inspections.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in heavy industrial, oil & gas, or complex chemical plants.
  • Mechanical focus with experience in various mechanical systems, including pumps, fans, pressors, chillers, boilers, and compressed air systems.
  • Millwright experience with lifting and setting heavy equipment and rotating equipment.
  • Previous experience on $500M+ projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a must.
  • Contractor side experience, out in the field.
  • Industrial, refinery, oil and gas industry background.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and manage changes to architectural and finish plans, mechanical and electrical systems, and instrumentation and controls systems.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and scheduling software.
  • Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed.
Plus:
  • Engineering bachelor's degree.
  • Owner side experience (must have contractor side too).
