Job Description:

Dewberry, a leading professional services firm, is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Peoria, IL office. As a key member of our Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership to our design resources on energy engineering and decarbonization projects.

Our team of over 40 design professionals in Peoria is dedicated to delivering high-performance buildings, net zero energy design, and renewable energy technologies. With a strong focus on decarbonization and electrification, we are committed to helping our clients achieve their energy and climate resilience goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to our design resources on energy engineering and decarbonization projects.
  • Assist the Business Unit Manager and Service Line Leader in developing and implementing our decarbonization growth strategy.
  • Work with clients to understand their energy and carbon goals, design concepts, and project economics.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our services related to decarbonization and electrification.
  • Supervise Mechanical discipline managers within an office or business unit to ensure successful intra-office operations.
  • Ensure Mechanical discipline managers are consistently applying and complying with corporate quality management processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical training and development of staff related to energy planning, modeling, and life cycle cost analysis.
Requirements:
  • Accomplished mechanical engineer/PE with 20+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems, thermal energy infrastructure, and clean energy technologies.
  • Experience in technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success in meeting contract specifications and achieving high-performance and advanced energy design standards.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
