MedStar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Nursing Services to lead our Cardiovascular ICU and IMC teams. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for creating a practice environment that exemplifies the values of patient care and implements a patient-centered care delivery system.
The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of nursing experience, with 1-2 years of management and leadership experience preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, with a Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate must hold current RN licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in Maryland or the District of Columbia, as well as specialty certification from a nationally recognized nursing organization in either a clinical specialty or Nursing Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates a professional practice atmosphere and an environment of mentoring and professional development that supports shared governance and associate satisfaction.
- Builds trusting relationships with inter-professional healthcare teams and leaders of other departments, fostering an environment that values opinion sharing and utilizes shared decision-making.
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic and safe environment of care delivery that supports evidence-based practice and optimum patient outcomes.
- Provides clinical leadership through role modeling professional practice behaviors and maintaining role accountabilities at the level of associates.
- Hires, evaluates, coaches, mentors, promotes, counsels, disciplines, and terminates associates to achieve behaviors aligned with MedStar's vision, mission, and values.
- Develops and implements departmental goals that support the nursing strategic plan in collaboration with the nursing leadership team.
Salary Information
This position has a hiring range of $73,045 - $119,275 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
