This Position

">

We seek a Senior Civil Engineer for our Lakewood, CO office, working on projects with our Earth & Environment Team and contributing to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges.

">

In this role, you will lead tasks related to civil and environmental engineering projects, focusing on the energy and waste industries, as well as other sectors like mining, industrial, and transportation.

">

You will provide technical assistance and guidance for civil and water infrastructure projects in the public and private sector, assisting with research, design, conceptual development, planning, and construction.

">

Your Role

">

You will determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources for project development, design, and construction.

">

As a senior engineer, you will perform professional civil engineering work, conducting research and inspections to determine conformance with applicable rules and standards.

">

Additionally, you will develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, preparing safety and phasing plans, and updating infrastructure layout plans.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop or incorporate advanced modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, and operating strategies for safety and functionality.">
  • Work as an individual or part of a cross-functional team to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, assist with laying out installations, establishing reference points, and ensuring project work conforms with specifications and regulations.">
  • Prepare data and visualizations, such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for data interpretation or presentation.">
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting.">
  • Assist with project scoping, medium-sized project development, and providing guidance and training to junior engineers.">
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining research, findings, and recommendations to improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design and/or construction issues or opportunities.">
  • Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention.">
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.">
  • Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices.">
  • Collaborate with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.">
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and policies.">
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members, adhering to QA/QC.">
  • Ensure project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.">

About You

Required Qualifications

  • ">
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.">
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior civil design experience.">
  • Engineer in Training Certification.">
  • Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and application to permitting and project work-related issues.">
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including involvement in rehabilitation and new design projects.">
  • Working knowledge of concepts for reducing and eliminating hazardous substances/greenhouse gas use or generation.">
  • Working knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.">
  • Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and comparing regulations.">
  • Project management experience with small to mid-level projects, tracking hours and expenses.">
  • Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on construction and design aspects, applying regulations and policies.">
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally.">
  • Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment.">
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team members, adhering to QA/QC.">
  • Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, design software, technology, math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.">
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to apply technical knowledge and reach conclusions from testing results and data analysis.">
  • Ability to direct others safely and efficiently in the field.">
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.">
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements, which may extend beyond the typical workweek.">
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.">

  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) preferred.">

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $93,600 - $135,300 per year
