Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
  • Oversee the hiring and development of nursing staff
  • Ensure adequate nursing staff and maintain current skills
  • Monitor and address nursing employee conduct
  • Stay informed about facility incidents and assess resident health needs
Requirements:
  • Current New York State RN license
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in long-term care
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Prior DON experience preferred
  • Strong supervision and leadership skills

Job Summary:

The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. In collaboration with Administration, the DON ensures compliance with Department of Health regulations and passes the annual survey process. As a key leader, the DON assists with the organization, development, coordination, and direction of the Nursing Department.
