Job Summary

The host or hostess is the first point of contact for guests, creating memorable experiences through exceptional service. This role is responsible for meeting and greeting guests, offering choice of seating, and presenting menus.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet guests, offering choice of seating and escorting them to their table
  • Read, maintain, and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management
  • Maintain proper set-up of the dining room
  • Receive records and make necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with a college degree preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Considerable skill in using a calculator for mathematical calculations
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office, performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
