Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on the building and its equipment based on work requests and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain electrical systems and ensure all non-clinical and kitchen equipment is in proper working condition.
- Monitor and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as perform basic plumbing tasks.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering necessary supplies, while also ensuring the repair of medical equipment.
- Perform inspections and rounds related to the environment of care, coordinating with external contractors as needed.
- Fulfill duties as assigned, including acting as a Life Safety officer and providing orientation for new staff regarding building systems and safety protocols.
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Previous experience in construction or a related field, with a preference for candidates who have worked in a healthcare setting.
3. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, along with strong communication skills.
Physical and Mental RequirementsPhysical: The role involves various physical activities including walking (up to 60%), standing (up to 50%), kneeling (up to 4%), and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Mental: The position may involve moderate to high stress levels due to the nature of the work.
Exposure RiskThis position is classified as Category II, indicating that while tasks typically do not involve exposure to blood or bodily fluids, there is a potential for Category I exposure.
