About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Republic Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in, various vehicle components and systems, including chassis components, refuse bodies, engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
  • Perform preventative and repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road.
  • Safely provide road service when necessary to ensure that the Company's equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Identify the source of malfunctions using electronic tools and complete applicable Company training programs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in some of the following heavy truck or automotive systems: suspensions & steering; general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
