Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer/CDL Driver to join our team at Veit National. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving manual labor in heavy construction projects, including hauling heavy equipment and materials to job sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks in heavy construction projects, including demolition, loading, and excavation.
  • Operate a Class A CDL vehicle (Tractor/Trailer) to transport heavy equipment and materials.
  • Assist operators with equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to customer site-specific safety requirements and reporting incidents.
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify and ensure that underground and overhead utilities have been located/exposed prior to excavating.
Requirements
  • 6-12 months of laborer experience working on a construction crew.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Valid DOT Medical Card.
  • Class A CDL holder with at least 3 years of CDL driving experience, including 1+ years of hauling heavy equipment and securing loads.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check (including FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse query).
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus (English proficiency required).
  • Non-union, and must have reliable transportation to/from job sites.
  • Local to the DFW area, with the ability to travel 50% within Texas and the southern U.S.

Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions. Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, stretch arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.

Employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including heat, wind, and variable temperatures. Also exposed to variable terrain.
