Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Amentum as a Liquid Oxygen Operations Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operations of the liquid oxygen system at launch complex 39B for the Artemis program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance and operations of the liquid oxygen system at launch complex 39B for the Artemis program.
  • Integrate with other systems such as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), NASA customer, and other engineering subsystems.
  • Requires knowledge of pressurized pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of cryogenic systems is preferred.
  • Must be able to work off-shifts, weekends, and overtime to support launch processing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have the ability to successfully interface with customer Engineers and test Team representatives as well as manage completion of tasks on schedule to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, and specifications as well as interpret and communicate to the Test Team.
  • Ability to write detailed technical work instructions for Execution. Previous experience with manufacturing, integration, or ground processing a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient in report writing as well as technical presentations.
  • Experience working as a member of a formal team and able to function as such immediately.
  • Understand and learn hardware configurations and processes.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and only general guidance. Must be motivated to learn and execute.
  • In-depth computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
Work Environment

The position will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex. Position may require individual to travel daily to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, is required to access various locations on the facility. Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary. All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

Attendance

Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday. Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on task. Must be dependable and punctual. Shift work may be required.
