This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Mental Health Division at the Military Correctional Complex. As the Chief, you will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical assessments, treatment plans, and providing direct treatment for inmates with complex mental health diagnoses. You will also oversee the development of correctional health care professionals through mentoring and training.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical assessments and treatment plans for inmates with complex mental health diagnoses.
- Provide direct treatment for inmates, including individual and group counseling.
- Oversee the development of correctional health care professionals through mentoring and training.
- Direct oversight for health care related standards required for compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective implementation of mental health services.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current, active, valid, and unrestricted license as a doctoral level psychologist offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
- At least one year of specialized experience in clinical psychology, including development and implementation of batteries of psychological instruments to assess patients, providing diagnostic evaluations, and providing individual and group counseling.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
This position requires the incumbent to be on call after normal duty hours and to complete the Army Corrections Command Pre-Service Training program. All Army Corrections Command employees are required to take 40 hours of training annually.
