Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), you will collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team focused on implementing best practices and utilizing evidence-based research to manage critical illnesses and mitigate complications in our diverse patient population.
Unit Environment:
- The MICU is a specialized 21-bed unit that provides intensive care for patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions. Our nursing staff actively participates in quality improvement initiatives and research projects, enhancing the overall care provided.
- Teamwork is essential: you will work alongside environmental services, licensed nursing assistants, fellow RNs, unit clerks, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, interns, residents, fellows, and attending physicians, all committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Our nurses are passionate about continuous learning and education, thriving in an environment that promotes accountability and responsibility for patient outcomes. Many of our staff are Certified Critical Care Nurses (CCRNs) or are pursuing this certification through our Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional nursing care to patients across various health conditions through comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, effective implementation, and thorough evaluation of the nursing care plan.
- Function as a vital member of both nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, education, and preparation for post-discharge care.
- May assume charge nurse responsibilities as operational needs dictate.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of nursing experience is required, with a preference for candidates with prior ICU experience.
On-call Requirements: Not applicable.
Incentives: External candidates with a minimum of one year of experience may qualify for a one-time sign-on bonus of $10,000, subject to additional terms and conditions.
