Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Position: Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer (U.S. Citizen)
Important: This role is associated with a significant long-term federal initiative. Please ensure you meet the outlined criteria. This is a full-time position. The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen and capable of completing/passing a Public Trust background investigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux server and workstation systems.
- Oversee enterprise-level Red Hat Linux configurations.
- Assess and develop annual requirements for systems hardware, software, and licenses.
- Diagnose and resolve system failures and address performance or security challenges.
- Integrate Linux systems within a Microsoft Windows Active Directory framework.
- Facilitate the connection of Active Directory users to Linux systems, ensuring compatibility with Common Access Cards (CAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Conduct data backup and recovery operations.
- Document system modifications and updates comprehensively.
- Implement and uphold current Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) configurations across all Linux platforms.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (as required by our government client).
- Must be able to complete/pass a Public Trust background investigation.
- Local candidates preferred; relocation assistance may be available for exceptional candidates.
- Preference for candidates with prior federal and/or Department of Defense experience.
- Must possess or be able to obtain an active U.S. Passport before starting.
- Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 10%) to various locations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux Administration.
- Experience in securing and supporting Red Hat Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Red Hat migration and updates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification or equivalent is a plus.
