Precision CNC Operator

We are seeking an experienced Precision CNC Operator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Confirm that the shop tag corresponds to the job scheduled on the machine.
- Ensure that the print part number and revision level align with the shop tag.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of stock to verify that it meets order specifications and that prior operations have not compromised quality.
- Check the quantity to be manufactured and the number of parts or amount of stock required.
- If applicable, ensure that the serialization sheet matches the serial numbers on the associated documents.
- Collect tool holders and necessary tooling as indicated on the setup sheets, ensuring that the computer inventory matches the actual stock.
- Gather vises or fixtures required for stabilizing parts as per the setup sheet.
- Load materials into the machine and establish the work origin according to the setup sheet.
- Ensure that holders are clean and free from burrs or chips.
- Report any damaged or broken holders to your supervisor.
- Load tooling into the machine following the setup sheet instructions.
- Set tool length offsets as per the setup sheet.
- Retrieve the program from the server or USB stick based on the machine being utilized, following the setup sheet for guidance.
- Verify that all measuring tools are functioning correctly and provide accurate readings.
- Execute the program, treating the first part as if it were the initial run, and monitor key parameters closely.
- Inspect features as they are completed to ensure compliance with specifications. If issues arise, halt production and consult management.
- Once the part is finished, break sharp edges and clean the part as necessary.
- Complete the appropriate in-process inspection report.
- If customer expectations are unclear, consult management or refer to the supplier requirements manual.
- Notify inspection upon completion of the first piece and ensure all necessary paperwork is finalized for the in-process inspection report.
- Attach a rejection tag to any parts that do not meet inspection standards, detailing the nature of the discrepancy.
- If a part fails the first piece inspection, revert to the previous step. Seek management assistance if unsure how to resolve the identified issue.
- Once a part is confirmed to meet specifications and approved by inspection, proceed with production according to the setup sheet, program, and print.
- For production runs of 10 or more, inspect a minimum of every fifth part.
- If any part is found to be out of specification during production, check all previous parts up to the last accepted one and tag non-conforming parts.
- Upon completion, place parts in the designated areas for heat treatment, black oxide, coating, or finish inspection as required.
- Dismantle tooling that will not be needed for subsequent jobs and return it to the programmer.
- Ensure that the machine and work area are clean and organized before concluding your shift.
