The Portland Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support various departments in our clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients, including preparation for exams and treatment.
- Assist providers during examinations and treatment, and provide wound or injury care and dressing as directed.
- Triage phone calls and walk-in patients, making assessments and reporting to providers as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and document patient information accurately.
- Administer medications, maintain controlled substance records, and provide intravenous access and administration as needed.
- Manage a desk in an individual or group setting, organizing schedules, test scheduling, and reporting.
- Follow The Portland Clinic guidelines for documentation, including use of forms and computer data entry.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Participate in code and triage team activities, maintain current BLS card, and attend nursing meetings and in-services.
- Counsel and educate patients regarding health care-related concerns, and participate in committees to represent the nursing staff.
- Provide a leadership and supervisory role for LPNs, MAs, and non-licensed personnel as appropriate.
- Maintain regular work attendance and punctuality, and work in a cooperative manner with management, colleagues, and patients.
- RN graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid Oregon Nursing License
- Current BLS
- Basic understanding of Medical Terminology, Current diagnosis and procedural coding, and Basic understanding of infection control
- Legalities of charting and telephone conversations, and Values team success
- Compassionate, patient, and tactful, with strong patient assessment ability and proficiency in charting and documentation
- Keyboarding skills, proficiency in Microsoft Windows, and organizational skills
- Oral communication skills, excellent phone etiquette, and competency in language, grammar, and spelling
