Job Summary:

At Visiting Nurse Association of SEMO, we are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and instructing patients to prevent, correct, alleviate, and limit physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction, and pain from injury, disease, or any other bodily condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examination, treatment, and instruction to assess, prevent, correct, alleviate, and limit physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction, and pain from injury, disease, or any other bodily condition.
  • Administer, interpret, and evaluate physical therapy tests and measurements of bodily functions and structures.
  • Plan, administer, evaluate, and modify treatment and instruction, including the use of physical measures, activities, and devices, for preventive and therapeutic purposes.
  • Provide consultative, educational, research, and other advisory services to reduce the incidence and severity of physical disability, movement dysfunction, bodily malfunction, and pain.
  • Develop and provide educational resources and training, fitness or wellness programs for asymptomatic persons, or provide screening or consultative services within the scope of physical therapy practice without the prescription and direction of a physician.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to read, write, perform simple mathematics, and follow directions.
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school of physical therapy.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare institution in the role of PT/PTA, with home health experience preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, registered with Family Care Reg., and not be listed on the EDL.
  • Must complete an application in full and furnish at least two credible business references with correct addresses and telephone numbers.

Working Conditions:

Frequent driving may be required.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds and sit for long periods of time.

Required Training: A 30-day period where policies and procedures are covered, including computer training for the use of a handheld device to make patient visits.
