Position Overview: The Professional Land Surveyor is tasked with executing accurate land assessments and mapping to define property boundaries. This position requires proficiency in utilizing advanced surveying instruments and software to gather, evaluate, and interpret geographic data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise land measurements and mapping to establish property lines.
- Utilize advanced surveying technology and software for data collection and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout all surveying activities.
- Create detailed field drawings and maintain comprehensive project notes.
- Calculate geographic positions based on survey data and terrain characteristics.
- Deliver a range of surveying services including control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, as-built, and construction surveys.
- Research legal documents, survey records, and land titles to gather information pertinent to property boundaries.
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain surveying equipment, collaborating with vendors as necessary.
- Prepare and oversee the creation of all data, charts, plots, and mapping records related to surveys.
- Build and sustain relationships with clients, ensuring high-quality surveys are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate effectively with office personnel, clients, and other essential stakeholders.
- Mentor and train survey staff in equipment usage and field survey methodologies.
- Assist and supervise field crews and office staff in their surveying duties.
- Lead the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and invoices.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in surveying, land surveying, and topographic analysis.
- Proficiency with Trimble robotic total station and GPS technology.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Faro Scene, Recap, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid driver's license and readiness to travel for projects.
- Experience in construction staking and performing ALTA, boundary, and topographic surveys.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a LS, LSIT, or eligibility to take the LSIT exam.
