Job Overview

Position Title: CNC Machining Trainee

As a CNC Machining Trainee, you will engage in the production of precision components by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, all while adhering to stringent quality and safety protocols. This role requires meticulous record-keeping, equipment maintenance, and organization of the workspace, in addition to following established Standard Operating Procedures and verbal guidance from seasoned colleagues and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan machining processes by analyzing work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage stock inventory by assessing needs, placing orders, and confirming receipt of materials.

Shift Details:

This position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, typically from Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays and occasional Saturdays. This is an entry-level, semi-skilled position designed for individuals eager to learn the CNC machining trade. Successful completion of the training program may lead to advancement into a CNC Machinist role.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming and editing CNC machines.
  • Ability to set up milling and lathe machines.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Skills in troubleshooting and reprogramming machine controls.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance of equipment.
