Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Based Therapist to join our team at Heartland Counseling Services.

Job Summary:

The School Based Therapist will provide mental health and substance abuse services to students at the West Holt, NE school district. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field, and at least two years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct mental health and substance abuse services, including intake assessment, individual, family, and group counseling.
  • Complete treatment plans, treatment plan updates, and other documentation as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings, clinical meetings, and IEP meetings.
  • Collect and analyze mental health and substance abuse information and student outcomes data.
  • Determine family and community resources available for treatment and make arrangements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assessment/evaluation, including after-hours and on weekends.
  • Implement re-integration plans for students returning to school from hospitalizations or facility stays.
  • Foster effective communication with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Provide home interventions and solicit parent/guardian involvement in program planning and treatment services.
  • Assist families in locating and using community resources, agencies, and organizations.
  • May be required to work an altered schedule and provide clinical services in evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

Travel is required, and the candidate must maintain car insurance and a driver's license. The ideal candidate will also possess or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska license of LMHP, LCSW, LIMHP, or LICSW.
