Job Description

A Chaplain Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the spiritual guidance and well-being of Soldiers in the Army National Guard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Unit Ministry Team activities and ensure the physical security of Unit Ministry Team facilities and equipment.
  • Safeguard privileged communications and offerings and maintain confidentiality.
  • Arrange religious retreats and memorial ceremonies to support the spiritual needs of Soldiers.
  • Support the Unit Ministry Team readiness program and maintain Chaplain vestments and religious items.
  • Operate communication equipment and digital reporting systems to facilitate effective communication.
  • Assist in planning religious support operations and deployments to ensure the spiritual needs of Soldiers are met.
  • Maintain reports, files, and administrative data for religious operations and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Conduct specialized peer counseling for combat stress casualties to provide emotional support and guidance.
Requirements:
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
